Cruzeiro climbed to sixth in the Brazilian Campeonato table on Saturday thanks to a 1-0 win at Bahia .

Walter Montillo opened the scoring after nine minutes and the third-bottom hosts had no answer.

Elsewhere, Vagner Love's first-half brace lifted Flamengo to a 2-0 home triumph over Nautico Recife .

Figueirense moved off the bottom courtesy of their second win of the season. Aloisio netted the crucial goal 11 minutes into the second half to secure a 1-0 success at Sport Recife.

Santos had to fight back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at home to Atletico Goianiense, who slipped to the foot of the standings despite their point.

First-half strikes from Patrick and Wesley had put the visitors in the ascendancy, but substitutes Patricio Rodriguez and Ezequiel Miralles (penalty) spared Santos' blushed after the interval.
