Bucks fill out roster with ex-Celtics guard
Veteran guard Marquis Daniels has signed with the Milwaukee Bucks, likely filling the team's final roster spot for the upcoming season. Daniels averaged just 3.2 points in 38 games with the Boston Celtics last season, but he played a key role off the bench on defens.
Last season's surprise rookie stays with Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks have re-signed forward Ivan Johnson, who made a surprise impact as an undrafted rookie last season. The 28-year-old Johnson averaged 6.4 points and 4.0 rebounds in 56 games. He led the team by making 51.3 percent of his shots from the field and ranked fourth in rebounds.
Heat add Harrellson, now have 18 players under contract
The Miami Heat signed 6-foot-10, 275-pound Josh Harrellson, who averaged 4.4 points and 3.9 rebounds as a rookie for the New York Knicks last season. The Heat have 18 players under contract for training camp, which opens with the first practice Sept. 29
Barnes switches teams but stays in LA
The Los Angeles Clippers signed forward Matt Barnes, the nine-year NBA veteran who spent the past two seasons down the hall at Staples Center with the Lakers. Barnes was the top-scoring reserve on the NBA's lowest-scoring bench last season, averaging 7.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for the Lakers.
Nets fill out roster with Blatche, Childress
The Brooklyn Nets signed 6-foot-11 Andray Blatche, who averaged 8.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 26 games last season for the Washington Wizards. Washington waived Blatche in July, designating him as the team's amnesty player. The Nets also signed veteran forward Josh Childress, who played for the Suns last season.
